No7 Haul - Foundation, concealer and powder for pale skin

While I've been on the hunt for a good concealer recently I can't ignore looking at a few foundations while I'm at it! I'm sure like most people I go through make up phases, and I end up switching up the foundation I use now and then. I'd been a bit fed up for a while of the foundation I was using and was open to looking for another.

I'd noticed my friend had been using this No 7 'Beautifully Matte' foundation for quite a while and her skin always looks flawless. She is also pretty pale like I am so I was surprised to see that she was using No 7- a boots brand rather than something more expensive. I've stayed away from boots and other drugstrore make up brands for a few years now, scared away by their 'pale' foundation shades that just turn my skin patchy and orange. After she allowed me to try out some of her foundation on myself though I decided to take the plunge and buy some. At £13.50 a bottle its not a disaster if it all goes wrong either, the price point is a little more than other drugstore brands but not as pricey as 'higher end' brands that tend to be twice the price.

No7 has loads of other types of foundations, this one is for Normal/oily Skin and comes in 16 different shades. I got the lightest shade which is Calico.

While buying the foundation No7 had a 'buy 1 get 1 half price' offer. It'd be rude not to buy the concealer too of course! The concealer was £7.50 and comes in 17 shades. I also had a £3 off voucher for No7 make up which was handy so I saved even more money!

I've swatched both products on my arm (which is reaaaaally pale and not accurate to the colour of my face in the slightest but at least you can see the texture of the make up!) The top is the foundation, the more orangey looking one (for lack of a better description) is the concealer.

They look pretty dark for my skin tone but when applied to my face they blend really well. The foundation is a lot cooler toned that others I've used in the past and I think it matches pretty well. It can be built up to give more cover also. The concealer has a really nice texture, it turns almost powdery when applied to the skin and blends nicely. My only issue with it is I feel it blends in almost too well and doesn't cover my under eye area very well, that said I do like to use it for the rest of my face blemishes.

Along with both those items I decided to get the powder too, which is £11.50 and comes in four shades. I got translucent. I also got another £3 off voucher with each purchase so in this case it paid off to buy in separate transactions to save even more money! :)

Overall I'm really pleased with each of the products and even more pleased with the price, all of these items cost me just over £20 which is a great deal less than what I'd usually spend on just foundation alone! I'd say I'm likely to re-purchase all of these items again in the future, especially if there is another offer on ;)
