It may have been out for a while and the hype may have died down but I am no less excited to finally have my hands on a naked palette! Like most keen beauty folks I've seen all the naked palette's but bizarrely never purchased one, although perhaps its not that strange when I'm not much of an eyeshadow wearer myself. Naked's appeal is obviously in the fact that the colours are pretty neutral and can suit anyone.
With that said I set out to buy a palette still entirely unsure which I'd come home with.Ultimately I couldn't resist going with Naked 3 because it was the newest one and the pink shades look so nice together. Seeings as I'm pale and my hair is Ginger/orange it probably wasn't the best palette for me (the shop assistant seemed a bit wary for me!) so I was kind of nervous about spending £37 on mostly pink shadows but after owning it for a few months now, I haven't looked back since!
I really like the majority of the shadows, with Liar, Buzz, Burnout and Nooner being my favourites. I found myself using the palette every single day and creating a soft pinky eye look. More dramatic looks can probably be achieved using the darker shades however I think this palette is probably limited in that the pink shades look very similar when on the skin, so theres less range in the looks that can be achieved compared to other palettes.
With that said, I'm overall really happy with the palette and I'm tempted to go back and buy the other two! The palette also came with some eyeshadow primer samples but I've yet to try those out.
Along with the naked palette I also picked myself up some new moisturizer. I have really dry skin and tried numerous creams but still have problems. I went with L'Oreal's Triple Active Nourish, it's around £4-£5 so it's not a bad price. I have to say its actually been one of the best creams I've ever used. It visibly improved my skins condition and I noticed the difference immediately with how my foundation looked on my skin after using it. It's quite a thick cream but it settles into the skin nicely.
The last thing I picked up was a concealer from Nars. I was actually after a foundation too but the shade I'm after seems to be sold out everywhere? The concealer I picked up is in the shade 'CHANTILLY' Light1.
I've shown a swatch below although its a little hard to see, which has to be a good thing right?! After using it for a while I feel its actually a little too yellow toned for my skin. I have more of a red undertone so perhaps this is not quite for me, at least not for my under eye area. As a concealer I do like the consistency and how it applies, it's very covering although I find it easy to accidentally over apply it and end up having white circles under my eyes as opposed to dark ones!
I'll still use it everyday, at £22 for 6ml its pretty pricey so I'll be getting my wear out of it. For now though...the hunt for concealer continues!
