Classics: Chloe Signature Perfume

Last week I watched a film called 'The Look of Love' which is a biopic based on Paul Raymond, who opened the UK's first strip club and then went onto launch several soft porn magazines.
It's a really fun and stylish film, but with the bittersweet moral lesson that most tales of 60's hedonism end with.
It starred Imogen Poots as Debbie Raymond, who's great as the bratty wild child daughter.

Well she reminded me of a perfume I used to love - Chloe! - as she did the campaign for it when it first launched back in 2008.
A few clicks later and I'd secured myself a gift set in the sale from The Fragrance Store.

This is the 50ml Eau De Parfum and 100ml Body Lotion.
The box for this 2014 gift set is very simple, with the signature beige bow to accent.

I'd had to throw away my Chloe fragrance a few years back as it had gone bad fairly quickly, from what I remember it had started to change scent after just a year.

I have plans to make this a signature for me again though, and even today I must have sprayed it about ten times already!

Chloe smells like pot pourri to me, dusty and very retro, which I find comforting.
The powdery rose is lifted by the brightness of the freesia, plus the amber and cedar base means the longevity is incredible.
It smells great at all stages, though I find it's extra lovely when you catch the scent of it on a scarf or cardigan :)

I've just done a massive fragrance purge, getting myself down to just a few scents:
  • Creed - Spring Flower
  • Diptyque - Eau Duelle
  • Marc Jacobs - Lola
  • Moschino - TOY
  • Victoria's Secret - Bombshell
I did buy this on the condition that I wouldn't buy any fragrance for the whole of 2015, so I guess if I post my resolution on here I'll be more inclined to stick to it! ;)
