When I saw that Mac was releasing a new product called Studio Sculpt Defining Powder, I was eager to try it.
The Mac Studio Sculpt foundation was one of my favourites before my skin got so oily it couldnt handle the formulation. The coverage was incredible and the wear was impressive.
So I was hoping that the powder from the line would be just as good.
As you can see, I was running low on my beloved Mineralize Skinfinish Natural and hoped that the Studio Sculpt powder would release here in the UK before I needed to repurchase another powder. Luckily it did! So I added it to my A Novel Romance order from mac's website direct on Thursday and it arrived today.
Here is Studio Sculpt in Light compared to MSFN in Light:
Umm, quite the difference wouldn't you say!?
So speaking to some of the gals on Specktra, they think that maybe the powder is supposed to be more of a defining powder than an all over coverage/setting powder, though the Mac website describes it as such:
'Studio Sculpt Defining Powder offers sheer, barely-there coverage,
immediately correcting uneven tones, leaving skin smooth and sculpted
without looking powdery or cakey.'
To me I'd say it's comparable in colour to the foundation shade NC15.
Even if I wanted to use this as a contour type product, the colour is too yellow for me.
If you're fair skinned like me then maybe Light Plus in the SS powder would be a better option, as it is more pink toned.
I love the sleek packaging and the fact that it has a mirror too.
I hoped this would be a good fit for me as the new MSFN compact looks so bulky :/
The ingredients list:
It contains dimethicone, which I'm trying to avoid as much as possible in my cosmetics now so I don't think me and this powder were meant to be anyway!
Luckily Mac offers free returns via Collect +, so off back in the post it went!
