If you don't follow The Body Shop on Instagram already then I highly suggest you do, as it was on there that I won a comment competition to trial the new Aqua Boost Sorbet :)
In all honesty, this is a product I would have probably overlooked, mainly because I have so many moisturisers that I'm focused on using up, I don't need to add to that part of my skincare collection.
Now that I've had the chance to trail this product, I'm plesantly surprised with my findings and I'm excited to share them with you!
Let's take a look at the packaging: a really pretty design with the revamped font and picture packaging like on many recent Body Shop releases.
The jar is frosted glass and I dont feel like it's too weighty for travelling, though I do like to decant my products a lot of the time.
The of the sorbet is pink!
The texture is strange and probably unlike anything you'd have used before, but bare with it as it truly transforms on the skin.
It's not as thick as a gel, it's much lighter, with an almost lumpy texture that's not quite grainy... but the most noticeable feature is how instantly cooling it is.
When I apply moisturiser I usually rub it across both of my palms and press my hands onto my face.
Application wise, I wouldn't recommend that method, as the product instantly sank into my hands leaving no residue.
Like magic I was like hmm where did that go!?
So then I tried scooping some of the product out and dotting it across my face before smoothing out.
It left my skin so velvety <3
I have super oily and acneic skin, so this product had a lot to contend with!
I will say that I was pleasently surprised by how not greasy my face looked throught the day.
It didn't mattify my skin completely (I don't use mattifying products anyway), but it did do a pretty good job of keeping my complexion even as the day wore on.
Since I've needed to apply high SPF to my face in the morning, I found that I naturally fell into a routine of using this product as more of a primer.
This surprised me, as I've recently gotten rid of a lot of my primers,
as they tend to cause more sensitivity for me, but if you are looking
for a gentle alternative for a primer then I'd say this was a good bet.
