Cheryl is one of my faves and so is perfume. Put the two together and it's a winning combo for me!
I spent many a pound trying to emulate Chezza's hair, makeup, clothing, everything back in the day, so my lemmings when she announced she was doing a perfume were strong.
I even ordered this blind from feelunique, having not smelt it in person.
I went for the 30ml bottle as I hoped that despite the large flower bottle topper it'd still be fairly handbag friendly.
The box is pretty, with embossed flower detailing on the sides.
When opened, the bottle nestles inside a flocked purple base.
The bottle is pretty lightweight and happily the bottle top is super lightweight.
It's a sweet plant bulb-esque bottle with a shimmer spray on the glass.
When
I sprayed Stormflower for the first time it wasn't at all as I
expected.
From the note description I'd been expecting another fruity
floral like so many of the celeb fragrance predecessors.
To me, the
scent is definitely soapy, which is often used as a negative
description, but the freesia saves the fragrance for me.
I
wondered why I was drawn to my childhood by the smell and I'm pretty
sure it's the freesia, a smell I adore but you don't find in many
products these days.
It kind of has that clean bubble bath smell that
wowed when J.Lo did Glow.
I can't find vanilla or sandalwood in the
base notes, there's just white musk to my nose.
Sillage
is mild and longevity is sadly poor, though I am used to wearing very
strong perfumes.
I'm hoping as I start to get used to Stormflower it
will become the skin scent I've been looking for.
Personally I'd have liked even more vanilla but maybe a sweeter more caramel scent could be Cheryl's next offering? :)
